NEW YORK, N.Y.—The York College softball team dropped a pair of wild games to Baruch College on Monday morning at Randall's Island.
York dropped game one, 14-2, and game two by a score of 18-7.
Karen Werner led York in game one with a single and an RBI. She would also come around to score on a wild pitch, accounting for York's other run of the game.
In game two, York put up crooked numbers in the second, third and fourth innings. A two-run error in the second helped York get on the board. In the third inning, another Baruch error helped push across the third run of the game.
Darlene Judan then got an RBI ground out and
Alexis Mack singled home a run later in the inning to highlight a three-run frame. In the fourth, York got a two-run single from
Angelika Ruggiano.
Despite putting up a season-high seven runs in game two, York was victimized by ineffective pitching. Control problems led to Baruch putting up big innings en route to a five-inning victory.
York's next game will be on April 9 at home against Lehman College at 2 p.m.
