BRONX, N.Y.— The York College men's tennis team was denied a victory on Thursday afternoon, narrowly losing to CUNYAC-rival Lehman College, 5-4.
 
York fell behind 2-1 after doubles play, but earned a doubles victory at the third flight. Shun Ramnauth and Felix Liew were 8-6 winners. 
 
In singles play, Haseeb Raza was a straight-set winner (6-4, 6-4) at first singles.  York's other singles victories came from Ramnauth and Liew, who held on for three-set wins over their opponents.
 
The most pivotal match for York came at #2 singles, where Hasnain Khatri came up short in three sets (6-1, 2-6, 6-2), giving the Lightning the 5-4 edge. 
 
With the loss, York is now 0-9, 0-6 CUNYAC, while Lehman is 2-7, 1-5 CUNYAC.  The Cardinals return to action Friday with a non-conference match at Purchase College beginning at 3:30 p.m. (weather permitting).
