BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The York College men's volleyball team continued its hot play of late, winning its fifth straight match by defeating Medgar Evers College 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-18) on the road Tuesday night.
With the win, York is creeping closer to .500, sporting an overall record of 11-13. In CUNYAC play, they are 10-2 and sit in third place in the standings. Medgar Evers drops to 1-18 overall, 0-11 CUNYAC with the loss.
Leading the way for York once again was
Edner Geffrard, who has caught fire in the past few weeks. He tallied a match-high ten kills, while hitting .412 with four aces and six digs. Freshman
Anson Webb added five kills, hit .444, and had three aces and three blocks.
Akeem George and
Frederis Tapia each had four kills and
Paramvir Singh led all players with seven digs.
Androw Soliman recorded 23 assists at the setter position.
Medgar Evers got eight kills from Jamal Chance. He accounted for most of the Cougar attack, as he was responsible for eight of the nine Cougar kills.
The Cardinals will return to action on Thursday with a road match against John Jay College at 6 p.m.
