NEW YORK, N.Y. — The York College men's volleyball team earned two CUNYAC victories at a multi-match on President's Day. York defeated John Jay College 3-0 (25-16, 27-25, 25-23) and then won a five-set thriller over CCNY, 3-2 (27-25, 31-33, 21-25, 25-22, 15-13).
Against John Jay College, senior
Randy Adams led all players with 14 kills and a .571 hitting percentage, while
Edner Geffrard had ten kills, hit .389 and added six digs.
Sebastien Francois finished with 30 assists and seven assists.
In the five-set win over CCNY, York overcame a 2-1 set deficit to improve to 5-8 overall and 4-1 in CUNYAC play. There were some big numbers compiled in this one because of each set being so close. Geffrard recorded a match-high 24 kills, while adding 18 digs and Adams finished with 20 kills and four digs.
Andrew Hass had four kills, 19 digs and three block assists, while
Anson Webb notched nine kills and eight total blocks. Francois added a career-high 55 assists.
York will return to action on Thursday when they host Hunter College at 7 p.m.
