NEW YORK, N.Y.— The York College men's soccer team got on the board first, but saw John Jay College roar back with four unanswered goals and fell to the Bloodhounds, 4-1 on Saturday evening.
The Cardinals had the early momentum after they scored just five minutes into the contest when a
Huguens Smith cross found
Ricardo Bartley, who fired a shot and scored. The lead would be short-lived, however, as just five minutes later, John Jay got the equalizer when Tosin Abudiore scored off a pass from Curtis Harbers in the box.
The Bloodhounds then captured the momentum going into halftime, scoring two late, first-half goals. Goals by Graysen Carlson in the 35th minute and another in the 40th minute, gave John Jay a commanding, 3-1 lead at the break. John Jay then put the match away in the 58th minute with a goal by Harbers.
The loss drops York to a disappointing record of 0-9-1 overall and 0-4 in CUNYAC play. John Jay improves to 3-7, 2-1 CUNYAC.
The Cardinals will return to action on Wednesday with a home match vs. Baruch College at 6 p.m.
