Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Adams’ Career Day Not Enough As Men’s Volleyball Falls to Southern Vermont, Albertus Magnus

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – York College sophomore Randy Adams' 27-kill performance was not enough as the Cardinals men's volleyball team fell in five sets to Albertus Magnus 3-2 (21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-11) in a quad match held at the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday.  York also lost in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-19) to Southern Vermont College.

They 27 kills for Adams far eclipsed his previous career high of 15.   He was also very efficient, hitting .419 while contributing on defense, with 11 digs.  Sebastien Francois finished with 40 assists and Anson Webb was a force at the net, totaling 12 blocks.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 set advantage in this one, but Albertus Magnus fought back, winning three-hard fought sets to earn the victory.

The first match of the day, against Southern Vermont, didn't have quite as much drama.  Adams had another impressive outing in the loss, finishing with 10 kills, while hitting .381.  Edner Geffrard added six kills and eight digs.

Up next for York is the Cairn University Classic next weekend in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.  York will take on Lancaster Bible College on Friday, before meeting up with Southern Vermont once again and Cairn on Saturday.
