BOX SCORE
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The York College men's soccer team saw its comeback bid fall short against St. Joseph's College Thursday night, losing by a score of 3-2.  It was a wild match between the two teams with four goals scored within a six-minute span during the second half.

Thomas Homier opened up the scoring in the 30th minute, dribbling through the Cardinals defense and past goalkeeper, Mohamed Elbarbary, to put the Bears up 1-0 at the half.

Beka Goduadze would put St. Joseph's up 2-0 in the 62nd minute, scoring off of a penalty kick. Three minutes later, the Bears would find the back of the night one more time as Benny Barrios would score on a direct kick that was dropped by Elbarbary and found its way in the back of the net.

Wilkerson Jean-Jacques would score one minute later for the Cardinals to give York its first goal of the match to cut the deficit to 3-1.  Jordan Chin would then convert a penalty in the ensuing possession to cut St. Joseph's lead to one.

The Cardinals would fail to score another goal as the Bears defense managed to hold on for the last 23 minutes of the match to secure the win.

York now falls to 3-5 overall, while St. Joseph's is 2-3.  The Cardinals will be looking to bounce back this Saturday September 27th, when they take on Hunter College on the road. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at Randall's Island.
