Men’s Tennis Tops Sarah Lawrence to Earn First Victory of 2014
RESULTSBRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The York College men's team tennis team picked up a 7-2 win over Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday to earn its first victory of the 2014 season.
The two teams played eight-game pro sets for doubles and ten-game pro sets for singles in the match. The Cardinals dropped both first singles and first doubles but picked up wins in every other match.
Hasnain Khatri won 10-5 at second singles and
Jay Pal earned a 10-6 victory at third singles.
Anthony Omoragbon,
Elnathan Atwell and
Ruel Quamina won at fourth, fifth and sixth singles respectively.
In doubles play, Omoragbon and Atwell teamed up at #2 doubles to win 8-4 and then Quamina and Pal won 8-4 at third doubles.
York, 1-3, will look to build off the victory when they host Vaughn College on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
