Men’s Tennis Drops Pivotal Match to John Jay

RESULTS

JAMAICA, N.Y.- The York College men's tennis team lost their fourth match in a row on Saturday afternoon, after falling to John Jay College, 7-2. It was a lost opportunity for York, as a win would have put them in a much better position for the upcoming CUNYAC playoffs.

Anthony Omoragbon and Elnathan Atwell played well, winning in their doubles match, 8-6. This marks the fifth consecutive doubles match they have won together. Omoragbon was also able to find success in singles competition, taking down his opponent, 6-3, 6-1.

It was a tough outing for York's top players, Haseeb Raza and Hasnain Khatri, who both lost in doubles (8-2) and singles competition (6-0, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-0).

York's will close out conference play on Monday afternoon against CUNYAC-rival the College of Staten Island on the road at 3:30 p.m.
