JAMAICA N.Y. – The York College men's tennis team dropped its home opener on Friday afternoon, losing to Rutgers-Newark University, 9-0.

The loss drops York's record to 0-2, while Rutgers improves to 1-1. After being swept in doubles play, York lost five of the six singles matches in straight sets.

They will hope for a better result in their next match on Monday at home against St. Joseph's College (Long Island).  That match will begin at 4 p.m.
