Turnovers Doom Cardinals Against Brooklyn College

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The York College women's basketball team lost the turnover battle badly, and as a result, took the loss on Saturday against CUNYAC foe Brooklyn College, by the final score of 78-34.
 
The Bulldogs scored more than half of their points off of 33 Cardinal giveaways.  York also struggled from the three-point line.  Danielle Dunn hit the only three pointer of the game for York in the loss. They also shot just 20 percent from the field. York did however edge Brooklyn College in rebounding and free throw percentage.
 
The Bulldogs never trailed in the game, and were able to utilize their bench well, with 24 of their points coming from non-starters. Carissa Williams led all scorers with 17 points and three teammates (Megan Campbell, Allison Donovan and Nacirema Mann) added 14 points each.  Nicole Francomano added a game-high 13 assists for Brooklyn College.
 
Dunn led the Cardinals with 15 points and four blocks.  Other individual impact performances for the Cardinals included rebounding totals of 12 and 9 for Nia Rene and Shauncia McClendon respectively. Both added a team-high three steals, as the Cardinals were able to generate 18 total takeaways of their own.  
 
Brooklyn College now moves to 18-6 on the year and 11-4 in CUNYAC play, while York drops to 3-21, 2-13 CUNYAC.  The Cardinals will close out the regular season on Tuesday at home against Hunter College.  It will be senior night as well, with seniors Danielle Dunn, Aimee Aikens and Analia Moore being honored before the game.
