BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The York women's soccer team played its last home game of the season this Wednesday afternoon, losing 2-0 to CCNY.
Led by Taylor Jo Gillen, who finished with two goals on the night, the Beavers outshot the Cardinals 11 shots to three. Gillen would score in the 36th minute, picking up a loose ball from around the six, with a sliding shot, putting the ball past Cardinals goalie,
Sarah Hilaire, to put CCNY up one before the half.
The Beavers would score again early in the second half, with Gillen finishing off a header off of a corner kick from teammate Tatiana Franco, to seal the deal for CCNY as the Cardinals failed to mount a comeback.
York now has a 2-12 record overall, 0-5 in conference matches. The Cardinals will be on the road this coming Friday as they face off against Yeshiva University. The match will kickoff at 12 p.m.
