York Men’s Soccer Can’t Stop Staten Island’s Goal Outburst

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The York College men's soccer team allowed five second-half goals to CUNYAC foe, the College of Staten Island Saturday afternoon and lost by a final score of 6-1.
 
York outshot CSI 10-3 in the first half, but the Dolphins were the ones who scored the period's only goal, which came in the 42nd minute.  Staten Island's Dardan Nika scored the goal off of a corner kick from Nermin Kurtesi.
 
In the second half, Staten Island managed to increase their shot total to 22 after taking an outstanding 19 shots in the period. The five-goal outburst started early in the second half when CSI's Horatio Reid scored in the 46th minute from Remiah Rodney and Nika assists.  Rodney and Rami Garah each added a goal and Kurtesi netted two other goals to increase the Dolphin's score to six goals.
 
The Cardinals managed to get on the board in the 71st minute on a header by Rohan Burrell from a corner by Diron Duah.
 
CSI improves to 7-8-1, 4-1 CUNYAC and the Cardinals fall to 4-10, 2-5 CUNYAC with the loss.
 
York will host Berkley College in their final home match of the season on Tuesday at 6:00 pm.
