York Men's Soccer Suffers First Loss of the Season to U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
BOX SCORE KINGS POINT, N.Y.—The York College men's soccer team struggled against the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, losing 5-0.
During the first period of the match, the opening goal was scored at 31:50 by Merchant Marine player Kyle Parker, which was set up by his teammate Dan Weldon. Not too long after, Parker assisted Michael Dahn with a goal, increasing the York deficit to 2-0.
York could not hold off against USMMA's offense during the second period. Three more shots found the back of the net, with the Mariners' Weldon, Erik Kempinski, and Michael Heckmuller each accounting for a goal.
York's record is now 1-1, while Merchant Marine increases its record to 1-2.
The Cardinals will take on Purchase College, Wednesday September 11th at 7:00 p.m.
