Three of Four Sets Decided by Two Points

BOX SCORE
JAMAICA, N.Y.— In a match where no set was decided by more than three points, the York College women's volleyball team came up short against the College of Saint Elizabeth by a score of 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 26-24, 28-26).

The Cardinals had their chances throughout the match but were unable to take advantage.  In the pivotal third set, the Cardinals rallied from down 24-20 to even the set at 24-24.   But York could not continue the momentum as a service error and then a St. Elizabeth ace gave the Screaming Eagles a 2-1 advantage.

In the fourth set, the situation was reversed, as York held a 24-20 advantage and was on the verge of forcing a deciding fifth set.  This time, St. Elizabeth scored four straight points to even up the score.  However, it was the Screaming Eagles who came out on top this time, eventually winning the set on another service ace.

Despite the loss, York's Carlean McCrimmon led all players with 12 kills, while also recording 13 digs and two aces.  Stayce Kay Muirhead added seven kills, five aces and three blocks.  Defensively, Allison Li led the Cardinals with 17 digs, while Yasheka Lewis finished with ten.
