Seeded #6, York Women’s Volleyball Will Face Lehman in the CUNYAC Quarterfinals

BRONX, N.Y.  – The York College women's volleyball team has advanced to the CUNY Athletic Conference Quarterfinal round.  As the #6 seed, the York Cardinals will be competing in the Bronx against the #3 seed, Lehman College Lighting on November 5th at 7:00 p.m.
 
If York defeats Lehman, they will face #2 seed Hunter or #7 John Jay in the semifinals.  For the other quarterfinal matchups, #1 Baruch will play #8 Medgar Evers, #2 Hunter will take on #7 John Jay and #4 Brooklyn will challenge #5 CCNY.
 
October 14th was the first encounter York had with Lehman.  York came up short and fell to Lehman in straight sets, (25-12, 25-13, 25-18).
 
Junior Jo-Marie Aquino is looking to pace Lehman.  She has been the CUNYAC/Pepsi Women's Volleyball Player of the Week three times this season and has a total of 298 kills, 246 digs and 51 aces.
 
Junior Stayce Kay Muirhead is expected to lead York.  Murihead compiled 2.08 kills and 0.51 blocks per set. 
 
Senior Evelyn Florentino and Sophomore Allison Li are also looking to contribute.  Per set, Florentino ended the regular season with 4.82 assists, 1.56 digs and .43 aces and Li averaged 3.06 digs per set.
