Brooklyn Tops Women's Basketball

JAMAICA, NY – The York College Women's Basketball team was unable to counter the tough pressure from the Brooklyn Bulldogs Monday evening, falling 71-20.
York struggled to maintain control of the basketball for most of the game, turning the ball over 40 times, which led to 39 Brooklyn points. The Cardinals woes continued offensively, shooting under 18% from the field (9-51).
The Cardinals received some offensive production from the bench, which scored nearly half of the team's points.
Danielle Dunn subbed in to lead the way for York, making 40% of her field goals.
Stayce Kay Muirhead pulled down 14 rebounds, seven from each end of the court, making up for her 2-8 shooting from the free-throw line.
Muirhead now ranks 16
th in the country, averaging 12 rebounds per game.
The Bulldogs (14-5, 8-2 CUNYAC) came out strong and hungry to score, powering 38 points in the paint and grabbing 14 offensive rebounds. Brittany Bowen led all scores with 21 points while shooting 3-5 from beyond the arch. Tamarah Jackson pulled down nine boards and Nicole Francomano thieved six steals helping Brooklyn cruise to victory.
