Women’s Soccer Drops Season Opener to CCNY

RANDALLS ISLAND, N.Y.— The York College women's soccer team dropped its season-opening match to the City College of New York by a score of 3-0 in a non-conference contest Tuesday afternoon.
CCNY's Tabatha Azor had a goal and an assist to lead the Beavers to the victory, as they improved to 2-0 on the season.
After 35 minutes of scoreless action, Jessica Salas put the Beavers on the board with an assist from Azor. Shortly after halftime Azor picked up her goal to make it 2-0 in the 49
th minute. Dzindzi Asamoah-Wade then iced the game with a goal in the 73
rd minute.
The Beavers also stifled York on offense, holding the Cardinals to just five shots on the afternoon.
York will look to rebound next Tuesday with its home-opener at Aviator Field against NYU-Polytechnic at 4:00 p.m.
