Women’s Soccer Tops Lehman Thanks to Penalty Kick

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The York College woman's soccer team defeated Lehman College by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday in a CUNY Athletic Conference match-up. The games only goal was scored on penalty kick early in the first half by
Carolina Munoz.
With just two minutes gone by in the game,
Anna Lales was fouled slashing to the box on an attempt at a goal and a penalty kick was rewarded. Munoz was assigned to take the kick and she put the ball into the left corner of the net to give York a 1-0 lead that it would not relinquish.

York improves to 2-5-1, 1-3 in the CUNYAC and will return to action on Saturday to take on New Jersey City University at 2:00 pm at the Metropolitan Oval in Maspeth, NY.
