Women’s Tennis Cruises to 7-1 Win Over NYU-Poly
RESULTS
JAMAICA, N.Y.— The York College women's tennis team had a strong showing against NYU-Polytechnic, Wednesday afternoon, winning by a score of 7-1.
York won five of six singles matches, led by senior
Valerie Roland, who won 6-4, 6-2 at #1 singles.
Anna Ko was perfect in her third singles match, winning 6-0, 6-0 and
Nikita Ramsay dropped just two games in the fourth flight, winning 6-1, 6-1. Kameesha Sylvester and
Taliah Cudjoe rounded out the scoring, with wins at fifth and sixth singles respectively.
In doubles play, Roland and
Maleeka Chin won 8-1 at # 1 doubles and the team of Sylvester/ Cudjoe won 8-0 at #3 doubles. Second doubles was called due to darkness with the scored tied at 7-7.
With the win, York improves to 2-2, while Polytechnic drops to 0-4. The Cardinals will take on Baruch College on the York College Tennis Courts on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
