Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Places in Four Events at CUNYAC Championships

RANDALL'S ISLAND, N.Y.—The York College women's outdoor track and field team placed in four events, led by
Danielle Dunn, who placed twice and by
Maria Suero-Santos, who won the javelin, at the 2012 CUNY Athletic Conference Outdooor Track and Field Championships Sunday.
The javelin was the highlight event of the day for the Cardinals. Suero-Santos' heave of 27.54 in the finals proved to be good enough for gold, while
Danielle Dunn took third place with a toss of 25.14 meters. Later, Dunn added another third-place finish in the discuss with a toss of 22.64 meters.
In track events, the Cardinals were led by
Kemillia John who was third in the 400-meter dash (1:01.20) and fourth in the 200-meter dash (26.51).
In the 4x400 relay, the team of John,
Johane Accime,
Aderonke Adebayo and
Faith Fordjour placed third among senior colleges in a time of 4:29.98.
The Cardinals did not have enough competitors to score as a team. Lehman College dominated the event to capture the women's championship.
