York Track & Field has Strong Performance at Osprey Open

RESULTS

GALLOWAY, N.J.— Tarik Weekes placed first in the 800-meter run and fifth in the 1,500 meter run to a highlight a strong day of competition for the York College men's and women's track and field teams at the Osprey Open Saturday, hosted by Richard Stockton College.  Overall, the men and women combined to place in five events on the afternoon. 
 
Weekes placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.69 and fifth in the 1,500 run in a time of 4:26.36.  Christopher Peguero also placed on Saturday, earning a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (59.68).  In field events, Olabimpe M. Ologundudu was second in the long jump with a distance of 5.92 meters, while in relay events, the 4x400 men's team of Peguero, Weeks, Jason Shaw, and Wayne James finished third in a time of 3:34.77
  
Johane Accime led the ladies, finishing third in the 200-meter dash in a time of 28.52. 
York will return to action this Saturday at a meet to be announced.
