Men’s Tennis Earns #7 Seed and Will Visit John Jay in CUNYAC Quarterfinals

JAMAICA, NY – The York College men's tennis team, with a conference record of 2-5, has earned the #7 seed in the upcoming 2012 Men's Tennis CUNY Athletic Conference Championship.  The Cardinals will visit John Jay College, who earned the #2 seed, on Wednesday, April 24 at 3:30 p.m. at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.

John Jay College had a strong season this year, going 6-1 in conference play, with its only blemish against conference-unbeaten Baruch College.  Earlier this season, the Bloodhounds topped the Cardinals 7-2 on April 13.

York has had a rough season for the most part, going 4-12 overall, but has picked it up as of late.  The Cardinals have gotten three of their four wins over the past week.  Iheany Agbor has been big for York, as he leads the Cardinals with an 8-4 singles record.

Should York advance, they would play in the semifinals on Sunday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m. against the 3/6 winner.  The complete seeding is listed below.
