Men’s Tennis Ends Skid With Win over St. Joseph’s

JAMAICA, NY – The York College men's tennis team got back in the win column on Tuesday afternoon, defeating St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) by a score of 8-1.

Ayman Busat rebounded from losing the first set to win in three sets by a score of 2-6, 6-0, 6-1 at first singles to lead York.  Later, Busat and teammate Erick Giron were winners at first doubles by a score of 8-2.

Iheanyi Agbor continued his strong play this season with a 6-1, 6-2 win at second singles and Kalsang Chhosphel won 6-2, 6-3 at fourth singles.  Trevon Phillips and Kevon Brown also won their singles matches and later teamed up in doubles play to win at #3 doubles.

With the win York improves to 2-9 on the year.  St. Joseph's drops to 0-6. York will return to action tomorrow with a non-conference contest against Pratt Institute at 7:00 p.m.
