Lehman Edges York in Men’s Tennis
RESULTS
JAMAICA, N.Y. – The York College men's tennis team dropped a conference match to Lehman College, losing by a score of 7-2. If a few points had gone the other way, the result could have been different but York lost three matches that came down to the very end.
Winning for York on the day was
Trevon Phillips and
Kevon Brown who won a tight, 8-6, contest at #3 doubles. The Cardinals also picked up a win at #3 singles, with Iheayni Agbor winning by a score of 6-2, 6-3.
Ayman Busat lost a hard-fought victory at first singles, losing 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 and Brown dropped a three-setter at #6 singles by a tally of 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. At #5 singles,
Justin Mo lost in a third-set tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (9-7).
With the loss, York falls to 1-7, 1-4 in the CUNYAC, while Lehman improves to 2-7, 2-4 in CUNYAC action. The Cardinals will return to action on Wednesday when they host John Jay College at 2:00 p.m.
