York Drops Season-Opener to Hunter College
JAMAICA, N.Y. – The York College men's tennis team dropped its season-opening match to Hunter College, Friday afternoon, losing by a score of 9-0.
The match was closer than the score would indicate, particularly in doubles play. All three matches were tightly-contest but the Hawks were able to come out on top each time. Damen Ellingson and Bob Frischling-Sosma edged York's Guarocuya Renyoso and
Erick Giron at #2 doubles, while Luis Quintero and Arthur Kepantakis beat out York's
Iheanyi Agbor and Aymans Busat 8-4 at first singles.
Hunter improves to 3-0 on the year, while York drops to 0-1.
