Rutgers-Newark Puts an End to York’s Winning Streak

JAMAICA, NY—The York College women's tennis team saw its four-match winning streak come to an end Friday afternoon when Rutgers University-Newark defeated the Cardinals by a score of 7-2.  
 
York's two victories came at #6 singles, where Nikita Ramsey won 7-6, 6-7, 7-2 in a third-set tie-break and at # 4 singles, where Nina Olladikankwu won after her opponent was forced to retire. 
 
Rutgers-Newark swept the doubles play and captured the other four singles matches to round out the scoring.
 
York falls to 5-4 on the season and will visit Farmingdale State on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
