USMMA Downs Men’s Soccer, 4-0
							
							
							
						
						 JAMAICA, NY— The York College men's soccer team fell to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, the #8 ranked team in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) pre-season poll, by a score of 4-0 on Saturday morning. 
 
The game was scoreless for most of the first half until USMMA got on the board at the 39th minute, on a goal by the Mariners Tanner Nestler.
 
USMMA put pressure on the York goal all game and Cardinal goalie 
Qudus Kassim performed well, making 11 saves in net before having to leave in the 56
th minute due to an injury.  From that point on, the Mariners began to pull away.  A goal in the 56
th minute made it 2-0 and tallies in the 72
nd and 77
th minute rounded out the scoring. 
 
With the loss, York drops to 0-2 on the season, while USMMA improves to 2-0.  The Cardinals hope to bounce back on Wednesday in their home opener, when they battle St. Joseph's College (LI) at 4:00 p.m.
