Women’s Volleyball Sweeps John Jay

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's volleyball team used a solid effort all around to defeat John Jay College by a score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-22) in a CUNY Athletic Conference contest Tuesday night.
Three players recorded at least five kills in the win.
Sharon Fordyce picked up six kills (.455), while
Stayce Kay Muirhead and
Antenieka Burton (.455) added five kills apiece. Setter
Pamela Yap registered 16 assists, five aces and seven digs, while
Yasheka Lewis digged seven balls.
The Bloodhounds were led by Renauta Sailsman who had a match-high seven kills to go along with seven digs. Martina Hot added six kills for John Jay.
York now stands at 4-11 and even its conference record up at 2-2. John Jay drops to 0-13, 0-5 in the CUNYAC. York will visit William Paterson for a tri-match on Saturday. The Cardinals will take on William Paterson at 11:00 a.m. and Old Westbury at 1:00 p.m.
