Brooklyn Edges Men’s Tennis 5-4
JAMAICA, NY – The York College men's tennis team fell by the narrowest of margins to Brooklyn College Friday afternoon, losing by a score of 5-4.
Brooklyn started off by taking two-of-three doubles matches to gain the early advantage. Erick Giron and Iheanyi Agbor won their first doubles match for York by a score of 8-4. In singles play, Ayman Busat won at first singles by a tally of 6-1, 6-7, 6-0 and Giron won at third singles 4-6, 6-1, 6-1. Agbor was also victorious, winning 7-5, 0-6, 6-4.
The match came down to sixth singles where Justin Mo could not win a second set tie-break to force a deciding third set. Brooklyn's Mubashir Ballah won 6-2, 7-6 to clinch the win for the Bulldogs.
York (3-11, 1-7 CUNYAC) will close out the regular season on Tuesday with a home match against Rutgers-Newark University.
