York Tops Baruch; Improves to 4-1 in CUNYAC Play
JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's tennis team improved its record to 7-5 and 4-1 in CUNY Athletic Conference play, with a key 7-2 win over Baruch College on Friday afternoon.
York started out winning 2-of-3 matches in doubles play.
Nicole Jones and
Amba Chanoine were 8-1 winners at first doubles, while
Anna Ko and
Tenzin Kunchok were 8-2 victors at #3 doubles.
In singles play, Jones won a hard-fought match at first singles in a third set tie-break (6-4, 3-6, 10-7),while Chanoine was a straight-set winner (6-3, 6-2) at #2 doubles.
Anna Ko (6-4, 7-5),
Tenzin Kunchok (6-3, 7-6) and Kameesha Sylvester (7-5, 6-3) were also straight-set winners at #4, #5 and #6 singles respectively.
York will return to action tomorrow when they visit the College of Staten Island.
