John Jay Scores Two Second-Half Goals to Top York

JAMAICA, NY—After a scoreless first half, John Jay College netted two second half goals and went on to defeat the York College women's soccer team by a score of 2-0 in the final conference game of the season Monday afternoon.
John Jay's Bergelie Louis scored an unassisted goal in the 64
th minute to break the scoreless tie. Nine minutes later, the Bloodhounds Jennifer Gomez scored off a corner kick for an insurance goal. Brenda Pitts had an assist on the play.
The Bloodhounds controlled the match, outshooting the Cardinals 19-2 and holding a 10-5 advantage on corner kicks. Despite the loss, York goalie
Vanessa Rivera played well, stopping ten shots.
York falls to 1-11, 0-6 in the CUNYAC, while John Jay improves to 6-12, 3-3 in the CUNYAC. The Cardinals will close out the regular season tomorrow at SUNY Old Westbury at 7:00 p.m.
