York Women’s Tennis Eliminated by Hunter in CUNYAC Semis

FLUSHING, NY— The York College women's tennis team saw its playoff run come to an end in the semifinals of the CUNYAC/ Hospital for Special Surgery Women's Tennis Championship Friday evening. The Cardinals were blanked by Hunter College by a score of 5-0.
Hunter looked strong in the match and was never threatened. In doubles play, the Hawks swept the three matches, winning 8-0, 8-4, and 8-5 in first, second and third doubles respectively.
In singles play, the Hawks won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles and 6-0, 6-0 at third singles to clinch the match.
The Hawks now advance to the championship game on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the USTA National Tennis Center.
York will play a non-conference contest against the Sarah Lawrence College on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
