Women’s Tennis Stays Hot; Wins Fourth Straight Match

, NY— The York College women's tennis team continued its winning ways Friday afternoon, picking up its fourth consecutive victory.  The Lady Cardinals upended Brooklyn College by a score of 7-2 to improve its record to 6-5 overall and 5-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.

 

York got off to a fast start winning all three doubles matches.  Nicole Jones and Amba Chanoine took first doubles, 8-5, Allana Wilson and Nina Olladikankwu won the second flight, 8-6, and Anna Ko and Tenzin Kunchok were victorious at third doubles by an 8-2 score. 

 

In singles play, Chanoine, Olladikankwu, Ko and Irma Ruilova won their flights 3-6 respectively to seal the win for York.  Brooklyn took first and second singles to round out the scoring.  The Bulldogs fall to 3-3, 2-1 in the CUNYAC with the loss.

 

York will look to make it five straight when they visit the College of New Rochelle on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
