Box Score

BROOKLYN
, NY— The York College men's soccer team lost a hard-fought match to Medaille College, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.  The score did not indicate how the close the match was because the game was scoreless until late in the second half, when Medaille exploded for three goals in the final 23 minutes of the game.

The turning point of the match came in the 63rd minute.  With the match still scoreless, a scuffle between the two teams resulted in a red card for York and the Cardinals were forced to play a man down the rest of the game.

The Mavericks immediately took advantage, scoring just four minutes later when Eric Schnirel found Corey Phillips off a corner kick.  Phillips the headed it in for the game's first goals.  Scnirel would later add a goal of his own in the 75th minute and Shane Ramage scored the final goal in the last minute of play to round out the scoring.

With the loss, York drops to 2-4 on the season, while Medaille improves to 6-2-1.  The Cardinals will visit the College of Staten Island on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
