Men’s Tennis Tops Brooklyn, 6-3

, NY – The York College men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season Friday, defeating Brooklyn College by a score of 6-3.

 

The Cardinals took four of the six singles matches, winning two of them in tiebreakers.  Ayman Busat dropped the first set but rallied to take the match in a third-set tie breaker at first singles, while Asandoh Jones won his sixth-singles match in a third-set tiebreaker as well.   

 

Michael Lateef won in straight sets at #2 doubles and then teamed up with Busat to win 8-6 in first doubles.  Charlton Distin was also a straight set winner at fifth singles. He later paired up with Erick Giron to win at #2 doubles.

 

With the win, York improves to 1-1, 1-0 in the CUNYAC.  They will visit Pratt Institute on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
