JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's tennis team saw its winning streak end at four matches, as they fell to Sarah Lawrence College, 8-1, in a non-conference contest Saturday afternoon.
The match was much closer than the score would indicate, as York dropped a number of matches that could have gone either way. Nicole Jones dropped her first-singles match, after she fell in a second-set tie-break. Irma Ruilova was ousted at sixth singles in three sets by a score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-0. Amba Chanoine was York's lone winner on the day, taking #3 singles.
With the loss, York drops to 6-6 on the season. They will visit Rutgers-Newark on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
