Lady Cardinals Lose to Lehman

JAMAICA, NY— The York College women's volleyball team was swept Tuesday evening, dropping a conference match to rival Lehman College 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 28-26). The Lady Cardinals had a chance to force the third set when they led 24-21. However, the Lightning rallied to tie it and then went on to take the third set and the match.
Gerri Ann-Martin turned in a big effort for Lehman, recording 17 kills to go along with six digs. Lisa Jagdeo had 32 assists and Jillian Acevedo had a 32 digs to lead the Lightning.
For York, Irma Ruilova led the team with eight kills, while also recording eight digs. Charlina Gallegos finished with a team-high ten digs and 12 assists for York.
The Lady Cardinals fall to 4-7, 2-2 in the CUNYAC, while Lehman improves to 3-4, 3-1 in the CUNYAC. York will return to action on Tuesday when they host St. Joseph's (LI) at 7:00 p.m.
