York Women Finish Third, Men 12th at Baruch Invitational

BRONX, NY— The York College women's cross country team earned a third place finish and the men's cross country team took 12th place at the Baruch Invitational held at Van Cortlandt Park Sunday morning. The Lady Cardinals earned 88 points, finishing behind Baruch College (72 points) and Brooklyn College (83 points) respectively. SUNY-Maritime, with 59 points, won the race on the men's side.
Leading the way for York was Alexis Schloss who placed ninth in the 6k race in a time of 30:13 and Kenny Jacquet for the men who placed 14th in the 8k race with a time of 32:22.
Also turning in a solid meet for York was Taneisha Renaud, who finished in 12th place with a time of 30:20 and Alexandra Nkrumah who placed 15th in a time of 30:40. 95 runners competed on the women's side and 108 ran on the men's side.
Liz Mahoney of Hunter College and Ian Scott of FDU-Florham won the women's and men's race respectively.
York will return to action this Sunday when they run at the Queensborough Invitational at 10:00 am
