Women’s Volleyball Drops Opener to USMMA

KINGS POINT, NY – The York College women's volleyball team dropped its season-opening match Tuesday, losing to the United States Merchant Marine Academy 3-0 (25-7, 25-23, 25-14).
USMMA's Jesselyn LaValley led all players with eight kills and ten aces to lead the Mariners. Jenna Palaschak finished with a match-high 22 assists.
The Lady Cardinals were done in by errors, committing 27 attack errors and 18 reception errors. Despite the loss, senior Irma Ruilova led the Lady Cardinals with four kills and eight digs.
York, 0-1, will travel to Cheyney, PA on Saturday for a tri-match.
