Women’s Track and Field Places Ninth at CTC Championships

POMONA, NJ—The York College women's track and field team put together a strong performance at the College Track Conference (CTC) Championships at Richard Stockton College Sunday, placing ninth overall (33 points). The Lady Cardinals finish is especially strong considering they competed against a number of Division I and II schools.
Division I Sacred Heart University ran away with the meet, scoring 243 points. York had the third highest finish among Division III schools, finishing behind sixth-place Lehman College (50 points) and seventh place Kean College (37 points).
Individually, York was led by Kadisha Wickham who earned second place finishes in both the 200-meter dash (26.53) and the 400-meter dash (1:01.14).
The relay teams turned in a solid outing as well, placing second in both the 4x100 (50.58) and the 4x400 (4:09.34). Both teams consisted of Alexandra Nkrumah, Wendella Rankin, Allana Paul and Wickham. Nkrumah turned in the fastest leg for York in the 4x400m with a time of 59.98.
York will host a meet this Saturday at a time to be announced.
