Men’s and Women’s Swimming Downed by Bearcats
JAMAICA, NY— The York College men’s and women’s swim teams fell to conference-rival Baruch College on Monday. The men’s team lost 104-68, while the women were defeated by a score of 97-72. The bright spot for York in defeat was Corey Rouse (Jamaica, NY/ St. Benedicts Prep) who took fist place in the both the 50-free and the 100-free.
On the women’s side York got strong performances from both Averie Mohammed (Queens, NY/ Jamaica) and Dawn Davis (Cambria Heights, NY/ Van Buren) who placed first in the 50-free and 100-breaststroke respectively.
With the loss, the men fall to 1-3, 0-1 in the CUNY Athletic conference, while the women drop to 1-5, 0-2 in the CUNYAC.
