JERSEY CITY, NJ— The York College women’s volleyball team competed at the New Jersey City University Gothic Knight Invitational on Saturday. The Cardinals went 0-4 in the round-robin format losing 3-0 (30-5, 30-10, 30-15) to William Patterson, 3-0 (30-12, 30-13, 30-8) to FDU-Florham, 3-0 (30-9, 30-14, 30-7) to New Jersey City and 3-2 (30-17, 24-30, 30-20, 27-30, 15-13) to Lehman College.
The host school, New Jersey City University, won the tournament followed by William Patterson, Lehman College and York. FDU-Florham was disqualified from the tournament.
York’s Renee Thompson (Jamaica-WI/ Hillcrest) was named to the All-Tournament Team, while Lizelle Cintron of New Jersey City was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
York, 2-20, will host Brooklyn College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
