www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's tennis showed fight Wednesday afternoon, collecting one singles and one doubles victory in a CUNYAC contest against the Lehman College Lightning (1-1, 1-0 CUNYAC). Despite the wins, the Lightning emerged victorious, 6-1, from The APEX Tennis Courts.
Playing together for just the second time in their careers, the duo of
Altenor Molien and
Shady Kalil produced a 6–4 win on the No. 1 doubles court. At the No. 3 level,
Munab Hasnain and
Lawrence Louis were able to get on the board with a game.
In singles action,
Gabriela Pirondi authored a 6-4, 6-3 win on the No. 5 court. With the feat, Pirondi now owns five singles triumphs across her two seasons with the men's and women's squads. The rest of the team had some individual battles, with Molien claiming six games on the No. 1 court, Kalil generating five games at No. 2 singles,
Munab Hasnain dropping a first-set tiebreak at the No. 4 level, and debutant
Max Moncion earning four games on the No. 3 court.
