NEW YORK, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College's Derick Aboagye-Frimpong was selected Monday as the CUNYAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for matches played Sept. 22-28. This is the freshman's second consecutive Rookie of the Week nod, and the program's fifth weekly laurel under head coach Brahim Chhab. 

In a road matchup against the University of Valley Forge Patriots (Sept. 24), he netted his second consecutive brace and totaled a career-best 10 shots. His long-range effort in the 65th minute turned out to be his first-career game-winning goal. Facing Saint Elizabeth University (Sept. 27), Aboagye-Frimpong tallied a team-high three shots on target. 

Through six matches, the Ghanaian leads the squad in points (8), goals (4), shots (31), and shots on target (13). In the CUNYAC hierarchy, he ranks first in shots and places highly in shots on goal (T-2nd), goals (3rd), and points (4th).
