Derick Aboagye-Frimpong was honored Monday with the CUNYAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for matches played Sept. 15-21. This is the freshman's first career CUNYAC weekly laurel, and the program's fourth under head coach
Brahim Chhab.
Patrolling the midfield, he netted a brace against the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons (Sept. 17), including a go-ahead thunderbolt in the 85th minute. Two days earlier, Aboagye-Frimpong generated a season-high seven shots in a 1-1 draw versus Medgar Evers College.
Through four contests, the Ghanaian paces York with four points and 17 shots. Among CUNYAC competitors, he ranks first in shots per game (4.25) and is tied for fifth in points.
