Samantha Panameno was selected to the eight-member 2025 CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Preseason Player to Watch list, announced Wednesday by the league office.
Playing in 58 sets last campaign, Panameno recorded a team-best 126 assists and 2.17 assists/set to go along with a solid 65 digs and 27 points. The junior had four matches with double-digit dimes, including a 23-assist performance in a five-set victory versus Medgar Evers College (Oct. 24).
Additionally, the Cardinals are chosen to finish seventh in the CUNYAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

John Jay College is the preseason pick to win the conference, totaling 47 points and six first-place votes. Hunter College also received support with 42 points and one first-place nod, while Baruch College gathered the remaining first-place vote. York totaled 12 points. The Cardinals' seven-match conference slate begins with a home matchup against Brooklyn College on September 16.
The 2025 CUNYAC Championship will take place on November 11 (first round), November 13 (semifinals), and November 14 (finals), with the league champion receiving an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.

The Cardinals commence their season Tuesday (Sept. 2) against the Yeshiva University Maccabees in a home battle inside York College Gymnasium starting at 7 p.m.
