Joshua Jackman was recognized Tuesday by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MWBA) as a Men's Basketball Divisions II/III Player of the Week Honorable Mention selection for games played Dec. 1-7. This acknowledgement comes after Jackman grabbed the CUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, and is the program's first MBWA weekly honoree since
Brandon Barrett last December.
Impressing in a 1-1 week for the Cardinals, the sophomore averaged 22 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. In a home contest versus Manhattanville University (Dec. 3), Jackman poured in a season-high 29 points and five threes in a tight 79-72 decision. Jackman then followed it up with his third double-double of the season, scoring 15 points (9-of-10 FT) and grabbing 11 rebounds in a 72-66 CUNYAC-opening victory at Medgar Evers College.
Playing in all seven contests for York, the forward leads the team with 14.9 points, 8.3 rebounds per game, and is shooting 76 percent (19-of-25) from the charity stripe. Conference-wise, those stats rank 6th, 4th, and 5th, respectively.

Jackman and the Cardinals host the John Jay College Bloodhounds for a CUNYAC showdown Thursday (Dec. 11), and close out non-conference play two days later with a home matchup against Pratt Institute starting at 12 p.m. inside York College Gymnasium.
