NEW YORK --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer generated a pair of conference honors Friday, as the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) released its 2025 Men's Soccer All-Star awards. Freshman Derrick Aboagye-Frimpong was named a First Team All-Conference member, and Ernest Bawilliam claimed the Sportsmanship Award. Aboagye-Frimpong becomes York's second First Team representative in the past five seasons, and the fifth All-Star selection during that time frame. Bawilliam follows Alex Conde as consecutive Sportsmanship Award selections

Across 13 contests, the rookie sensation vaulted the squad's defense and attack, producing six goals, three assists, 62 shots, and 26 attempts on goal to go along with his imperious ability to break up play in midfield. The Ghanaian native recorded braces in two matches, including a game-winning strike at the University of Valley Forge (Sept. 24), spearheading a pair of CUNYAC Rookie of the Week distinctions. Additionally, his performances against Medgar Evers College (Oct. 4) and Baruch College (Oct. 8) secured the Cardinals their only conference victories. In the CUNYAC hierarchy, Aboagye-Frimpong ranks first in shots and places highly in shots on target (3rd), goals (T-3rd), and points (4th). 

Similarly, Bawilliam was a true workhorse, playing in all of York's 13 battles, rotating from left winger to left back, and even deputizing at center back. Offensively, he notched three goals, including two at CCNY (Nov. 5) to keep the team's playoff hopes alive, and contributed a squad-best four assists.
