JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) Facing the reigning CUNYAC champions Wednesday afternoon at the York College Outdoor Athletic Complex, the Cardinals women's soccer team turned in a gritty defensive display led by goalkeeper Amaniya Aiken (2-8), who recorded her ninth double-digit save performance of the season in a hard-fought 3-0 CUNYAC setback against the John Jay College Bloodhounds (9-2-3, 4-0-0 CUNYAC).

First-Half Breakdown
Aiken faced five shots on target before John Jay Lillith Eaton broke through for the game-winning goal in the 21st minute. The Bloodhounds doubled their advantage 3:57 later when Tallulah Nemet-Sargent's long shot found the back of the net. Searching for a third, John Jay came closest in the 40th minute, as Ava Lopez and Natalie Mack both struck the woodwork. 

Second-Half Breakdown
Mack came close again at the 49:31 mark with her effort hitting the crossbar. With under eight minutes remaining, Amiya Milona fed Anna Wehr for a well-placed shot to seal the 3-0 scoreline.

Inside The Box Score
In the attack, John Jay tallied 43 shots, with 20 flying on goal. Aiken continued her sparkling season for the Cardinals, saving 17 of those 20 attempts to push her season total to 149. The goalkeeper also improved her save percentage to .768. Gianna Duarte (5-0) recorded the shutout for the Bloodhounds.
